  1. loveo everyone, this is my first post and I'm new to this topic so please bare with me. I'll try to explain my problem as thorough as I can. I was told I didnt have to have a dvd rom to burn and play VCD and SVCD type videos. I do have a cd rom and I have a cd burner. If I read correctly, I can burn a video cd and play it with just a cd rom with the support of a dvd software program. So I got PowerDVD version 3.0. So now I should have everything I need right? OK, I downloaded an MPEG file off the internet, using adaptec easy creator 5.0 Platinum I created a video cd. I put the cd in my cd rom drive, opened PowerDVD and clicked on the play button, the audio was fine but no video. PowerDVD gave me an error code. Error Code: F6F00018 Current display mode is not supported. Then I clicked Detailed: PowerDVD does not support the current display mode. (DDraw Overlay mode is recommended)

Please lower the screen resolution and color depth, for example, 800 x 600 with 256 colors. Or you may adjust the refresh frequency, for example, to 75 Hz.

I am at 800 x 600 with 256 color already, I tried adjusting the refresh rate to optimal instead of adapter default, it didnt do any good. DDraw Overlay Mode? What is that? What do I need to do fix my prob? Have I done anything else wrong? Please let me know if you can help, I really appreciate it, Jason.
