  1. I used to burn SVCD's all the time from .bin/.cue files with my old 24x burner and they turned out great. Well I bought a new 48x burner, and ever since then, I can no longer burn SVCD's via .bin/.cue files. It says it burns fine, but when I put the CD in a DVD player it says no disc, and on a computer, the CD cannot be read (it says basically this CD is not readable by Windows).

I burn using DAO (Disc at Once) and this is what is in the average .cue file:

    FILE "whatever.bin" BINARY
    TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
    FLAGS DCP
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
    TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
    FLAGS DCP
    INDEX 00 00:04:00
    INDEX 01 00:06:00
    INDEX 02 00:06:01
    INDEX 03 09:38:70
    INDEX 04 14:55:09
    INDEX 05 22:15:56
    INDEX 06 29:57:00
    INDEX 07 32:59:04
    INDEX 08 40:51:35
    INDEX 09 48:43:62
    INDEX 10 57:11:34
    INDEX 11 63:53:54
    INDEX 12 69:29:07
    INDEX 13 76:45:18

Any suggestions? It used to work on this same computer with the old writer, but now all .bin/.cue files with SVCD burn but are not readable. Hope someone can help me.

  3. Old burner = 24x from Que. New burner = 48x from Norcent. Burning prog = Nero, newest version. Also have tried CDrWin, same results.

    Media = CD-rw 10x, CD-r 40x, CD-r 32x, CD-r 24x, CD-R 24x Black Bottoms, CD-R 24x Diamonds, all same result.

  4. Have you tried making any other type of CD with your new burner and current media? (e.g., audio CDs, CD-ROMs)

    Different burn speeds?

Possibilities: (1) dead burner, (2) dodgy media, (3) burner-media incompatibility.

    Regards.

  5. I've tried all of those I listed with the new burner. Normal CD-Roms read fine, Audio CD-roms read fine. All other type of CD's (VCD, Data, etc.) burn and read/work fine after burning.. The SVCD format, however, from .bin/.cue files do not work after burning.

I've tried 24x-40x on CD speeds to burn SVCD, and one 12x. All have said they burn correctly but the SVCD's do not work/will not read on any CD-Rom or DVD-Rom. All other CD's (data/vcd/whatever) burn great and read great on all CD-Roms/DVD-Roms. It's just SVCD. I wonder if TAO would make it work any different?

  6. Hmmm.... that's very strange.

Are you sure that there isn't something dodgey with your "SVCD" CUE/BIN files?

For example, if you use Daemon Tools to mount that CUE/BIN image, does it work properly as a SVCD?

    Regards.

  7. I thought at first the .bin/.cue was the problem, but I tested the same .bin/.cue on my old 24x writer and made a SVCD flawlessly. So the .bin/.cues are evidently working fine. The 48x burner just won't burn SVCD's! Everything else it burns fast, even VCD's. I can't figure it out, why SVCD's are the exception bleh.

  8. The problem has been solved (kinda). If I burn the SVCD as track at once, it works fine now. I've never had to do it before, oh well, something new to remember lol.
