Lots of them but the results may not look good. Are you trying to play an SVCD and your player only plays VCD's? if so try the header trick.

okay im an idiot that is for mpeg2 to mpeg1 duh!!

you can use tmpgenc to go from mpeg1 to mpeg2 but it will stretch the imperfections in the picture and the results may look worse than the mpeg1.

no your and idiot b/c this is a MACINTOSH forum...

    tripps-

why would you want to convert from mpeg-1 to mpeg-2? the quality doesnt get any better-- it will actualy probably get worse. if you are trying to burn to dvd it doesn't need to be mpeg-2- dvd studio pro accepts mpeg-1 files as well.

  5. I am trying to burn a dvd through dvd studio pro but I have no idea how to...I called toast and they said by me putting an mpeg file in toast it would not convert to a vcd. When I did that I wasted a dvd that turned out to be a vcd. Toast said to make a video ts folder or file and I have no idea how to do it, so if you can please help me I would be gratefull!

you need to use sizzle or dvd studio pro to make mpeg-1 or 2 files into VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS folders that you can drop in toast in and burn.. but when you have mpeg-1 you DONT need to convert to mpeg-2 to burn as a DVD- that is a common misconception.

honestly-- if you have dvd studio pro or sizzle just read the instructions-- its not that hard, its too well documented in so many places that i just cant justify typing it fully out
