When I try to create a VCD from a 500Mb MPG file it puts the .dat file in the SEGMENT directory in stead of the MPEGAV directory.![]()
With my PC I just double-click on the ITEM0001.DAT and I can see the movie, but I cannot see the movie with my DVD player.
I use Easy CD creator 5

pvrakking - what are the properties of you MPG file?
I could be barking up totally the wrong tree here, but perhaps EasyCD thinks it's a slideshow or something rather than a video file?
Is it a VCD compliant MPEG1?
cheers,

I would recommend another vcd authoring and burn tool like nero or vcdeasy.
But you could try "repair" the mpg before you add it in easy cd.

Easy CD Creator has the peculiar habit of putting off-spec MPEG files into the SEGMENT folder when you use it to make a VCD.
Be that as it may, it does mean that your MPEG files are not VCD compliant...

Make sure that your MPEG files have the correct settings if you want to make a VCD. Also, as the others have said, a better VCD authoring program is highly recommended.
