  1. hi i have major problems with my vcd gear 2.0 can anyone recommend a better dat to mpeg converter,vcd gear just keeps cutting out at about 55% and it takes just over 3 hours to get there, ive since tried other dat coversions on vcd gear and they are all the same.

    I don't know, what is the problem with VCDGear, but you may try vcdxrip, that comes with vcdimager.

  3. it use to work fine but all of a sudden it just does not want 2 work anymore, i have downloaded it again and i still get the same problem. checked the files all seems fine, dont know what is the problem.

  4. Your problem most likely is that you have "fix mpeg errors" checked. In vcd gear, go to options, and make sure it is unchecked. When you start to output the file, it should take no longer than 20 minutes. On my 600 MHz pc, it does 4.4mb\sec to test it, click start, then run, find the output file, right click, then choose properties. It should give a file size, close it then reopen it, if it is bigger, then its doing it right

    yes,dat to mpeg for a cd should be within 20 min.
    You can use Isobuster too. It's better than vcd gear,but a bit slower.

  6. dat is mpeg, just copy it off the CD and rename the extention to .mpg. Easy as that.

    ..except it leaves the .dat's flags in the file. May or may not screw things up down the line, but they really are NOT the same...

  8. thanx for that guys, i will try your ideas, i will uncheck fix mpeg box and download that copy from isobuster. i will also try renaming the mpeg files.
