Sorry for this being semi-long but I dont want any questions left unanswered while you guys are reading this...I find giving alot of info usually helps people find the problem easier...anways, my first dvdr that I made when I got my dvd recorder was on the verbatim dvd+rw disc that came with it. It was a combo of two svcds and I converted it like vcdhelp said to, authored it and burned it..it worked fine no problem!! Then I acquired a bunch of tv episodes and the movie casablanca. The problem is I completely forgot EXACTLY what the settings I did the first time were, and couldnt find what I was looking at to do this...I converted them to what I thought was the same way (they werent svcds so I assume that is wrong but I used the tmpenc wizard with dvdr loaded so I assumed its right). I authored them on 2 seperate discs and burned them the same way this time using Verbatim dvd+rs not +rws. Neither of these discs worked in either my vcd player, nor my brothers (the first dvdr worked in all 3)..any clue what I could have done wrong? Let me add what might be important..that BOTH dvds that didnt work, worked perfectly on my computers dvd player using dvd software...I assume that therein lies that mistake I made somehow....The tv eps are all mpgs and so was casablanca..you can email me at ratedr1@aol.com too if youd like...thanks any help would be GREATLY appreciated

What software did you use to burn your +R disks? Some software work better than others with +R.

I used Ulead for both ..I did exactly the same steps (or so I thought) for both only difference that I THOUGHT was once I used dvdrw from verbatim and the 2nd time dvdr from verbatim. but they didnt work on all THREE players, so Im going to take a guess and say its not the discs, but rather what I did when encoding the files. the first time I was encoding from svcds, the 2nd/3rd from regular mpg files I guess, dont really know what the tmpenc exact settings should be. I was under the impression, that all I had to do was click dvdr template, then load the mpeg, then itd convert it...I never stripped the audio first into a seperate file, etc and it still worked....WAIT as I am writing this I am thinking of something...dont know if this'd make a difference, but when I converted it the first time, I THINK I just had video clicked on the bottom of tmpenc and I might have had video+audio the next times...could that make it unplayable? I know

..and if not...maybe its the settings for Interlace/non-interlace, top fieldA, aspect ratio, and video content that I messed up this time. I have NO clue what I put in there the first time and the 2md/3rd times I just clicked next and kept it at what it said when I loaded the mpg in...not changing anything
