  1. I spent the last two days doing conversion from Divx avi to DVD based mpeg2 streams through TMPGEnc plus 2.59. After getting everything to setup and work I noticed when the conversion process was done it left me with a *.m2v and *.wav file instead of a single *.mpg file. I'm now wondering what I need to do to make it into a single mpeg file or how to open it for authoring. Does anyone know??

  2. i believe when encoding in tmpg you have chosen the elementary stream type (Bottom right corner), which outputs audio and video streams seaprately, as opposed to a system stream, which outputs an mpeg file with audio and video.

you can also multiplex the streams you have into an mpeg within tmpg.
go to file, mpeg tools, simple multiplex and input your audio and video streams. you should have no worries from there.

  3. I have been trying that this morning but unfortunately to no luck. For example with Simple Multiplex I choose MPEG-2 Program (VBR) as the type, choose the *.m2v as my video and the *.wav as the audio. I immediately get the error when selecting the wav file: "Multiplexing Linear PCM stream to system stream is not supported"

    Any ideas... suggestions?

I'd hate to have to reencode this again considering it took 36 hours to encode the first time around.

Start Tmpgenc. Load your .wav in the audio-box. It will output a .mp2 file. Then you can multiplex them as per the previous answer.

  5. aaaah yes sorry modem i neglected to mention this bit.
wav files wont multiplex in an mpeg, so you need it in compressed format such as mp2.

  6. ok, and when you create multiplexed mpg file, that's the file I have to author, or I can author .m2v and .mp2 files?

Also, in the tutorial is was said to rename my mp2 file to mpa, why? is that for only to upsample my 44.1KHz to 48KHz? And then should I change the mpa file to mp2 back again?
