Ok,
I converted a DiVx AVI into 2 files.
- M2V file
- MPG file
Popped these into DVD Maestro and compiled to create the VIDEO and AUDIO TS folders.
Tested the files from WinDVD player and pointed it to the above folders and it played perfectly.
I then burnt using NERO and played the DVD on my PC DVD Drive and this too worked fine.
However, when I put it into my standalone DVD it comes up with DISC Error.
Any pointers/suggestions.
BTW: I tried it on another standalone player and it seems fine.

What is your standalone player, and what media are you using. It would seem to me that your player has compatability issues with your media.

Hi Craig,
My Standalone player is
Panasonic NV-VHD1 Multi-Region
Plays back DVD, DVD-R, CD, CD-R/RW and MP3 discs
My Media is described below.
NEW! Infiniti™ WhiteTop® DVD-R 4.7GB Compax™ (25)
Exceptional quality 4.7Gb recordable DVD discs · Multi speed · Nicam Stereo compatible · Suitable for Digital TV · 25 spindle discs per pack · White Top · Fully tested and compatible with popular writers
Never had a problem with these media before, and the player is brand new, but this may be the problem. -
...how was it burned (if you used NERO)? Was it by DVD-Video?
My Panasonic set-top would only accept DVD-Rs burned as DVD-Video. There were some instances that I had to burn it as ISO, and that won't play on my set-top (luckily I tried it on DVD-RW first), but played well on my PC. -
Hi,
I do all my burning with NERO, and yes, I make sure that I set it to the DVD-Video on the Wizard. As I said, plays on a lot of other dvd players, just not this one
I simply drag over the Video and Audio folders like normal and hit burn -

My Panasonic set-top (A110) was listed as "doesn't play DVD-Rs" (when I last checked, that is), but I discovered that it'll accept TDK DVD-Rs (2x) only (so far, I've only tried TDK and an el-cheapo brand). With that, maybe you can get a diff brand of media (start with 1 disc only so it won't hurt that much if it doesn't work also).
That's the only thing I can think of. Maybe other members have been in the same situation as you... -
