Both can be burned at 2x under DVDdecrypter and Nero....great stuff....

The last time i order accu from them...all i got is Lead Data....

  2. Weird. One batch and 2 manufacturers ?

BTW... my sony -RW disk was made by JVC

Could you post Manufacturer ID using ADVDInfo. More info here http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdmedia

How do you get Manufacturer with DVDDecrypter ??? I am looking but can't see (using DVDDecrypter on my laptop... NO burner there)

  3. donpedro:

my "accus" from meritline (I believe we ordered the same week) say Manufacturer Princo and can only be written at 1x with this recorder (this info with Nero CD speed 1.02), when I try to run ADVDInfo in my windows xp everytime bombs with the send report dialog. From the "sample" that I also got from meritline some that only sais 1x with Nero with 1.0d now say 1x and 2x with 1.0f with CDspeed, I'll try later to check all 25 "accus" and 5 sample I have left, but I guess all my accus are limited to 1x, so maybe I will sell this to a "friend" and buy new.

  4. I am using WinXPHome and (if I remember right) I had to use "ForceASPI" to make ADVDInfo work. So how did you get you Man.ID ? Nero Speed ? Where ?

  5. ForceASPI is within the program? I can't open the program, doble clic and bam, send error window.

I downloaded Nero CD Speed 1.02 from cdspeed2000, and then selected Extra - CD Info, and it say Manufacturer, space available, and burning speed in the burner installed (from where the DVD is of course).

  6. On my laptop (W2000) I don't have burner and I have only already burnd DVD-R and I can't see Manufacturer (unknown). My version is 1.01.3

You can find link to ForceASPI in Tools on this site.

  7. Now In have 1.02 and still nothing... Can it be because I don't have burner on laptop ? Or is it because DVD in not blank anymore ?

  8. Is because you don't have a burner. Even a not blank display manufacturer and possible burn speed, in space available nothing of course.

This is what I found with my order with meritline:

    - order sample (12 DVD-R 2 each of 6 types)
    - waited for Dell
    - order 25 "accu" from meritline after I saw here that they worked ok
    - got burner from Dell

and Today I downloaded Nero CD Speed 1.02, and found out the following:

    - my 25 "accu" manufacturer Princo only 1x with this burner
    - "accu" from the sample manufacturer Lead Data 1x - 2x with this burner
    - marqued DPO white/purple, man. Princo 1x
    - marqued ML 2x, TDK, 1x - 2x
    - Meritline generic 1x, RITEKG03, 1x - 2x
    - marqued LAC, no manufacturer in this program, 1x - 2x
    - marqued OPT, Lead Data, 1x - 2x

So my 25 "accu" are Princo but silver/purple, the only manufacturer that show as 1x only in my Sony DRU500A, just my luck.

  9. Maybe Meritline.com will send you whatever SILVER/PURPLE disk they grab from pile...

  10. I guess so, but I need to find a company that always send discs from the same manufacturer, or at least that work the same in my burner/player.

I made ADVDInfo work with your tip, thanks.

  11. I think you will need to pay more for that comfort. As soon as there is no info on disk..... Any .com company is good only before they will send you somthing different. If there were no tools like ADVDInfo, how would you know that it is media that is wrong and not you or drive or method how you author ????

Anyway.... Good luck in future and it might be helpfull if you post your ID from ADVDInfo here.

there is no way to know which disc is which because they are identical...and the serial number on the disc are consecutive....like A1VK4309 J252 11401 is for the sony and A1VK4309 J252 11400 is for lead data...it seems like one disc is sony...the next disc is lead data and so on....well..i'm not complaining...both burn at 2x and play perfectly...

  14. Nero CD Speed now works on my home PC (where I have burner) and it can show Manufacturer and some Code. I updated all my posts in Detail Media report with that info.

  15. I got my 25 pk Accu's in the mail Dec 23rd from cdrdvdrmedia.com (yahoo). They didn't have the standard Accu info but had this:

    ADVDinfo:
    00 6A 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 50 00 02 87 0D 13 .J...@....P.....
    88 99 80 00 03 4C 65 61 64 20 44 00 04 61 74 61 .....LEAD D..ATA
    20 20 20 00 05 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 .............

Not quite the same as normal Lead Data's out there but consistent with this thread. I've only tested the top one - it might be a mixed batch.

I dislike these discs because they are silver on the nonwrite side and I'd like to mark them up with a CDR pen as to what I burned (data on the first one - gotta love 4.3GB). Ideas?

I plan to call then today and tell them they didn't send me "real" Accu's - do you think I'll get another batch - don't bet on it.
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

I write on the silvertops with a "Sharpie"....no problems.

Accu's are my disk of choice Quality/Value.

PS...mine have always said Lead Data or LD
