  1. I didn't know where to post it, but its probably a newbie question.

Why is it that every time I open up my computer now, windows XP home gives me the message that the system has recoved from a serious error?

I scanned it for viruses and found no, and I always shut down my computer propery - start - shut down. I even scanned for spyware, but nothing. Does anyone know what might be wrong, it wasn't like this before.

This same thing happened to me is it possible you have uninstalled any programs lately and deleted off some program sharing files? If you go to the Microsoft website you can download the windows XP service pack 1(although it is about 100mb). This SP fixes many bugs within XP and may fix you troubles,it worked on my system, if not you will have to completely re-install your operating system.
    Good Luck

  3. Theres a problem with reinstalling the whole OS, my XP came with my computer, no cd or anything. Since I'm on a 56k it makes it a bit diffult to get 100mb.

  4. When things go bad like that, I don't settle for half fixes. Reformat and reinstall clean, then make an image with norton ghost and never (almost) get to reinstall again... I don't know of anyone who tried ghost and don't swear by it now...
