I have a Philips DVDR990 and have made several DVD+R(W)s from own tapes. I am considering buying a DVD+RW (SONY or NEC) for my PC to edit video.
I have a few questions about how the PC drives are used:
1) Is it possible to make an exact bit-for bit copy of my own DVD+RWs? If yes, can this be done in multiple "generations" - copy of copy of copy...?
2) Can I pick titles/chapters from own DVDs and copy them to DVD+R(W)s in a simple way, or do I need to edit/copy/convert several files?
3) Do I need extra software beyond what is usually included with the drives to do these operations?
4) Should I have an extra DVD reader in the PC, or do I have to copy via hard drive anyway?
- Thanks

1 - yes
2 - well i think its simple to do .. though you need to re-author
3 - have no idea what software comes with that drives but most likely - maybe , for 1 above , no , for 2 above , perhaps
4 - either way works fine and same result the end ..
