  1. I followed the directions here. When I click on "Save WAV..." it won't let me save it and gives me an error. I can save the WAV without the steps on the site but its horrible quality.

    Please help![/url]

I have trouble with virtualdub and audio sometimes too. I would try to save the wav file with TMPG and see if it is the wav file or vdub crapping out......

The requested audio compressio is not compatible with the input format. Check that the sampling rate and channel count of the input match those of the requested format.

I used to get that too.

I'm not sure exactly what cured it, but it was fixed after I
    • Reinstalled Windows XP
      Installed Codecs
Installed latest version of Virtualdub (v1.4.13)

Hopefully (for you), it's the last one that actually fixed it

You have to keep the same sampling/bitrate. Otherwise you have to convert(seperate process). This shows up a lot with 48Khz/96Khz sources.

  6. I have Ver. 1.4.10. I'll try to upgrade.

Garzorgan, please explain what that means. I'm not up to the media lingo.
