Since this release of Nero will be DVD-able, I can only imagine how a) crappy, and b) useless Nero DVD menuing will be, if it will be present at all.

After a horrible experience with EZCD, I really became excited about VCD because of Nero ... however, after seeing what "brilliant" abilities came along with Nero SVCD menus, I became underwhelmed by the whole Nero proggie and never gave up until I found VideoPack 4.

    *sigh*

I will of course be the first in line to try Nero's new DVD capabilities, but I will not hold my breath. I have SpruceUp 1.0 and I dig what it does.

  3. they don't seem to lose any word on DVD-V(ideo) which they surely would advertise if they had the capatibility... or have they really forgotten to mention it?

I'm quite eager to see them adding DVD-V, so I have a good reason to start a new project, namely dvdimager

  4. I highly doubt they would add any DVD Video support in the future, especialy since it uses MPEG2, and for that sort of encoding they require licences, which is why they did not include MPEG2 encoding for SVCD in the first place.

Nero is simply a Burning program, and it has just added compatiblity to the next generation of burners, mainly DVD, as you will notice, it also supports Sony's DDCD format (does anyone have it??) mainly because it is another burner type.

I just got a beta version of the mpeg2 encoding plugin for nero...so it will be included in the future.

  6. Now that would be cool, how is the encoding quality of the beta ? is it as bad as the mpeg1 encoding ?
