    AC3 audio is unrelated to ACM. What is your source audio (i.e. Stereo, Mono, Bit's, sample frequency). What Compression settings are you attempting to use? (AUDIO | COMPRESSION )

    Your extracting the AC3 from virtual dub using Direct Stream Copy, yes?

    Use AC3FIX. It is a known issue, that virtual dub introduces frame errors in the AC3 stream when extracing AC3 audio. AC3Fix will correct these for you, and fix your sync problem.

    You can find a copy here:
    http://download.divx.net.nz/software/audio/ac3_fix03.zip

    It's pretty simple for fomatting:

    AC3FIX.EXE {sourcefile} {destination file}

    example:

    ac3fix "c:\temp\inaudio.ac3" "c:\temp\outaudio.ac3"

    Note: use quotes around your avifilepath if your path contains any spaces, or the program won't understand the filename.

    Your saving it as WAV, and converting it to 44.1 Khz?

    Your DVD player supports AC3, but not for VCD, CVD, or SVCD. Are you trying to convert this to one of those, or are you converting to DVD?

    Assuming your going to VCD, CVD, or SVCD (since your resampling to 44.1 Khz), try selecting FILE | SAVE AS WAV with FULL PROCESSING selected under the AUDIO menu, WITHOUT converting to 44.1Khz. Do you still get the error?

    Suggested Method:

    Set VirtualDub to AUDIO | Direct Stream Copy
    FILE | SAVE AS WAVE
    Name your file EXTRACT.AC3
    Run AC3Fix to repair the bad frames.
    Use BeSweetGUI with SSRC to convert to 44.1 Khz.

    VirtualDub just doesn't handle AC3 audio well. Extract it, and work on it with tools better equiped to handle it.
