  1. I was just curious what everyone used to create menus for their VCDs.

I'm new to this whole thing and I've grown quite an attachment to VCDEasy. I've been able to use scene menus I created in Photoshop 6.0 in VCDEasy and create MPG stills from them. The quality is quite good since I'm using a resolution of 800x600 without cropping for the design of the menu itself. I've also got it so that I now have a template I use to create the menus too.

The nice thing about it all is that there is no limit to what you can do with MPG stills since they are all designed in Photoshop. I guess its left up to imagination of the author.

    I'd love to know too.

I use VCDEasy & Ulead movie factory. VCDEasy is better by far!

ulead dvd workshop can do a great job with dvd or vcd menus including background music. You can lay out the menu exactly the way you want it with your own art if you are creative.

  4. I use VCDImager to make menus... I encode the stills with either VCDEasy / MJPEGTools or CDMotion.

I've just been using Photodraw 2000 and VCDEasy, plus BMP2AVI.

  6. Ulead Video Studio 6 (the VCD/SVCD/DVD plugin), but the DVDWS app has more options (and is triple the price).
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."
