  1. Hi, I'm a complete newbie to this whole video thing....and in one movie I was able to fit it on a 700 MB CD. Actually, I had to save it as a data CD, because when I tried to burn it as a VCD, it said it wasn't encoded into the proper VCD format or something like that (I used that guide for how to fit your movie onto one CD using TMPGEnc 2.58)

Anyways, now I have another movie that I want to put on a CD, but I want to learn how to make it be able to rewind and fast forward because my other movie couldn't do that. I don't know if it's because I saved it as a data CD or not, I don't know if that's the case or not, but any help would be appreciated. Bear with me, I'm new.

Yes, the reason why it wouldn't rewind or fast-forward was because you had burnt it as a Data CD (or CD-ROM ISO). You need to burn it as a VCD and it should be rewindable and fast-forwadable.

    Hope That Helps!!! :P

  3. Well at least now I know it was because I had saved it as a data CD, but now I would like to know how do I burn it as a VCD, if everytime I tried burning it, my software would say it wasn't encoded into the correct VCD format??

I used TMPGEnc 2.58 to encode it to fit on a VCD (non-standard) or something like that, using the guide that's on this website.

    Thanks for the help.

This is what you need to do so Nero can accept your files:

    1. Launch Nero.
    2. Close the Wizard.
    3. Select File->New, then Select VideoCD.
    4. Uncheck "Create standard compliant CD" under VideoCD and click on new.

You should now be able to burn your files and play them back on your DVD Player.

    Hope That Helps!!! :P
