  1. I'm fairly new to video capture, I have a Panasonic DV camera (which works fine on my friends Mac with firewire) and for some reason I cannot capture anything. I've tried several programs (premiere 6, Ulead programs and Windows movie maker) and they all return similar messages saying that no device is present, or the correct drivers are not installed. my firewire card is installed correctly, the PC recognises it and the cord is securely attached to the camera/PC. Could someone please help! I don't know what else to do!

though i suspect you have some other problem . but you gave no detail about your system or what card you are using or anything else ..

oh -- sorry , just noticed you are running winme ..

well there is 90% of your problem .. dump it and get XP for really good firewire support ..

i had a epox board once that NO firewire card would work in also .. never could figure it out and and sold it off ..

  4. Thanx for the info. Is getting XP my best option? Are there no patches, upgrades or drivers that I can get for Windows ME?
