I have got pretty good 480x480 avi's captured with virtual vcr and am using dvd2svcd with cinemacraft 2.5.
If I am not concerned on space ie 40 vs 60 minutes per cd, and my dvd player can play up to 2400 kb/s. Is there a quality reason to use VBR 2+ passes. OR will CBR at a high bit rate work just as well.
Has anyone found the "drop dead perfect" setting to encode an interlaced 480x480 into high quality svcd's?

Multipass VBR will gain you better scene detection and bitrate allocation. Try using multipass with min, avg, and max all set to 2524, since your not worried about space. You will still gain the benefit of multipass.
Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...
