I got a copy of Premiere 6.5. But I cannot find any tutorial to use it to conver avi/DV to MPEG2. If I want to convert/copy SVCD/DVD, can I use it or I don't need it?
Thanks.

yes you can use it .. BUT you must call adobe service centre with your serial number and they will send you the nessessary upgrade pack .. free .. it not a download avaiable on-line (unless you know the link, avaiable for registered users only).
it works then very well ..
there are many templates and such included on the installation cd , also very good manual and tutorials come with it ...
the adobe help forum is very active and great place to go with problems and quaestions - there is a dedicated forum just for mpeg encoding with premiere. -
in fact -- there is a huge manual on the installation cd just for the mpeg encoder .. very detailed ...
