Afreopic seems like a great software, but I can't seem to get it to work.
I am trying to reencode a dvd rip and whenever I get through the setup in Afropic and start the encoding I get a error on the terminal that says there is "No such file or directory".
Any ideas why this is happening?

what version of X are u running? if you are running anything previous to 10.2 that could be the problem, 10.1.5 organizes directories differently than 10.2 (very small difference, but small enough to set off problems between programs designed in 10.2 isntead of 10.1.5) that is why i used to have the binary system setup for installin each time, but i tound it was more problems than help--- so until i find a way to have it autodetect operating system and make changes accordingly current versions will probably only work in 10.2.x

well then something must not be installed properly-- did u choose cvs or internet when you installed mpeg2enc? if you choose cvs you need to choose compile cvs latest cvs first. If you want to compile the latest mpeg2enc then you will need the developer tools installed first.
or did you even make certain to use the install mpeg2enc binary first? that needs to be installed before afropic will succesfully run.
and additionally if you want to compile the latest cvs you need to copy mpeg2enc installer off of the disc image first. As below, so above and beyond, I imagine

Afropic is pretty good, but I think it would probably benefit many users if there was a user guide or something of the sort to explain how to use the app and more detailed instructions of how to install.

when i do try to install the mpeg2encoder binaries it tells me that installation is not neccessary. As far as cvc. I have no idea what you are talking about.
A good installation guide for this software would be great!!! -
well i WAS just making guesses at your problems.. i cant really tell without a terminal output of the errors occuring , file not found could happen in a lot of places, so you need to be more specific if you want any geniune help.

sorry to post such a stupid question, but every time I click on convert, it tells me to select input first, but I always do select input first. I click the "select vob/mpg" button and choose my file, then setup my options and then click convert. Am I missing something here? THanks.

bilestyle, I know my quesiton is dumb, but can you tell me why it keeps telling me I didnt select an input file when I did over and over and over!?!!?!

Anything you can think of that would help me to solve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

i think the ":" as well as the "•" in your directory name listings could be causing a problem, you don't want any obscure characters like that in path names b/c unix doesn't like them
