I've download some DVDRip movie files from internet; however, I cannot hear any sound.
When I check the file extension, it shows .avi...
Can someone help me out with this problem???

Your computer may not have the necessary codec for the sound to work with the video. This depends on what sound is being used in the video. You have to check the properties of the video to find out.Originally Posted by PINOCCHIO
Just check on left for downloads or visit www.divx.com for the codec. -
You can also download GSpot (there is a link in Tools on the left).
Great program, tells what codecs you need to play the .avi and if you have both video and audio codec installed.
