Has anyone ever had this happen?
You re-encode with CCE, using the usual settings recommended here, do the pulldown, and then you import the AC3 and MPV files into DVD Maestro.
On doing this you find out that for some reason the video file is considerably longer than the audio file, even though the audio file is complete.
Creating a synch track doesn't help, since we're talking about a major difference in the lengths of the audio and video tracks, sometimes half an hour or more.
This doesn't happen all the time, but it has come up a couple of times.
Anyone else seen this one?

what is your question? I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that your audio is out of sync. I have no clue what you mean when you say your video file is considerabley longer then your audio like that is a surprise, because the video should be much larger and take longer to import into Maestro. If your question is about sync, that is a problem with DVD2SVCD which I am assuming you are using in conjunction with CCE to encode. If you are using DVD2SVCD, right now It will be hit or miss as far as audio sync is concerned and .AC3 Delay corrector won't help either, but you can try.

I don't know what could be the problem, but to clerify - Zoloftmeans that Video is longer not greater in size. (video is always greater then audio)
He means that Video for example is 30 mins and audio is 15, therefore final file is out of sync with audio.
I know that some more info about what tools youre using might help a little be. Throw some more info here please.=[ vinchi007 ]= -
Thanks, Vinchi--that is exactly the problem. Maestro will show, for example, that the video file is 1:58 and the audio file is 1:34. (I'm making up the numbers there, but you see what I mean.)
As for tools, I rip with DVD Extractor, frameserve with DVD2AVI, convert the d2v file with VFAPICodecV105en, encode with CCE using the usual settings (one pass at 60%, min 0, max 9800, then 3 pass with appropriate tinkering), author with Maestro, etc.
This little problem doesn't always happen, but it does come up from time to time. When it happens, I can generally get the encoding to work fine with TMPGEnc, but I would rather use CCE if I can.
Any ideas? -
I don't think the problem comes from CCE, although it is possible. I have read numerous posts on this subject because it has happened to me on several occasions. I have never once had a single problem when making an SVCD. Only when I make a back-up of a DVD do I "sometimes" have the sync issue. One of the things that can apparently cause this is when there are a couple of movie production screens in a row. For example, when Touchstone has an introduction screen, and a few seconds later, it has another one. It seems that somewhere along the line that messes up the sync and the truth is, that once that happens in that fashion, it doesn't appear that there is a way to rectify it at this point. Many people will tell you about .AC3 delay corrector, but when I searched posts on that, everyone I read that had used the corrector, had no positive results. The same is true with me. Keep playing with it and if you figure it out let me know.
