  1. I bought an Apex 500w today---the alleged "wundermachine" that is supposed to play anything--you know the one...

Anyway--I noticed that every movie I had that had a menu would not play at all on the 500w. My Apex 660 played everything great. I tried burning just the original mpeg file into VCD format and that played fine on the 500w. Then, I tried creating just chapters---no menus--just chapters. It played fine on the 660--not at all on the 500w.

Anyone else have this problem--or, is there anyone that has a 500w that has been able to have this work. If so, maybe its just the player I have. I'll trade it out if it is.

    Help!

I tried this once... It worked, but only kind of... I have a feeling that it may work better using Frames as entry targets, rather than timecode...

I did an experiment, and did 2:00 intervals for the first 60 minutes of a movie. It must have been something in the way it multiplexed, or something, but witha VBR movie the timecode gets screwy if you just skip around (GOTO: time)... but if you play normally, the elapsed time will be correct.

So when I skipped to 2:00 in the movie, it was actually more like 5 or 10 minutes into it (where it expected 2:00 to be in normal VCD format). It could even just be the Apex player...

I don't have an answer to this, except maybe they've updated TSCV... just letting you know you're not alone here!
