  1. I'm new to DVD recording and looking for some very basic information. I have a SONY VAIO with a Pioneer DVR-104 DVD-RW. My question is this...I just bought some DVD+R discs, can I use them? or should I return them and get something else? If so what is the best type of media for me to use?

    Thanks for any advice

you cannot use DVD+R in the 104, as it is only a DVD-R/W capable drive...so for the write once, you can only use DVD-R (minus R)...which can actually turn out better sometimes, as the -R is usually cheaper

  3. Pioneer has only supported drives DVD-R and DVD-RW
DVD+r and DVD+RW are different format and won't be able to burn them on your burner.
Return DVDs and get yourself -R and -RW
