Converting SVCD to mpeg2 (HHGG)

I have burned a mpeg2 to a svcd and now would like to take the mpeg2 back off the cd to reburn on another cd (changing from pal to ntsc).
I have tried just copying it but no player will play it.
I have windvd and other mpeg2 codecs so I know the file is not in the correct format and needs to be converted back to a regular mpeg2.(I have tried vcdgear gui with no luck )

Any of you guys know the solution?

There's something wrong with your media. It should work FINE (as long as the original SVCD was working!).
