I just got myself a Pioneer DVR-A05 bundled with Sonic MyDVD 4 and Sonic Cineplayer. I made my first DVD yesterday but it will not playback on my computer (I have tried Cineplayer and Windows Mediaplayer). It plays fine on Playstation 2. Professional DVDs plays fine on my computer.
    What is wrong? Please help!

  2. It should play in the A05. If you are trying to play it in another DVD-rom drive, then that drive might not be compatible with DVD-r.

  4. Can you open the files manually on your A05, i.e through windows explorer. If so it is an authoring or filesystem issue.

Can you give a few more details about how it was authored and burnt?

I chose transfer Video direct to DVD and captured from my DV device and burnt to DVD-RW. Now I've also tryed to Create a DVd project where I imported an AVI from my harddrive that MyDVD encoded. This DVD didn't work either. I have also tryed with DVDit now. I get the message in both programs that DVD has been made successfully. But it doesn't play on my PC!

I have been trying for two days now to solve this problem, and I have been searching the web and forums, but I can't find any solution.
The latest thing I did now was to install WinDVD which works fine, just like PowerDVD. What I found out is that if I play the DVD I have made with WinDVD, close WinDVD and open Sonic Cineplayer or Windows Mediaplayer, then those programs work as well. Does this give any of you people out there any clue what is wrong?

    Is it the Pioneer DVR-A05?
    Is it Windows XP?
    Is it my hardware configuration?
Is it the DVD-RW that came with my Pioneer burner?

I have tried several different writing software so it seems not to be the writing software. I just want the DVDs i burn to work with other software DVD players than WinDVD and PoweDVD!
