Trying to make a backup of my DVD's

I just bought a Sony DRU500a. Now I started trying to make backup's of my DVD's. I went through all the guides and allways there's IFOedit. I don't know if I'm stupid, but it just won't work. For instance in the 'Cretin Guide', as a last step you have to correct the sector adresses by using 'Get VTS Sectors'. Whatever I do, I never get the message 'finished correcting etc.' The DVD wich I created this way were just a mess. Please help.

Make sure you use the correct ifo file.
Make sure you are closing and restart ifoedit and do "get vts sectors".
