  1. Hi everyone!! This is my first time here. I have been tring to learn the ropes with vcd, svcd, etc. I have this problem with avi files that I d/l from a P2P network. I can play reg. mpg's with no problem, but avi files give me a black screen with no audio or video. I spend from 10+ hours d/ling movies with no playback upon completion. I've even tried to rencode the file with TMPGEnc. Get no video or audio with TMPGEnc. too. Any suggestions??? I don't really want to delete file.... Thanks everyone!!!!

I too have been burned many times on Kazaa, but have to keep trying. Another trick that some evil users use is to misname the files. When you think you have the latest blockbuster, you only have an old movie instead. I try to search for TMD with the title, but have had 50/50 luck lately. I still haven't found out how they manage to create a blank file that takes up so much space!

  7. if you dl 8 mile chances are its a fake file

How to check out if the file is fake(Kazaa/Kazaalite):

-try to dl one part only
-dl about 5-10MB of the file
-now go to your Shared Folder
-you'll see a file named something like 1234567890.dat
-copy then paste the file in the same folder
-rename the file to name of movie.avi
-play it and you'll know if its a fake or not
