Sound problems while capturing

I'm trying to capture home video onto my computer using a dazzle 80 and virtualdub in capture avi mode. I've had no problems up to now; but recently I'm not picking up any sound. If I bring up the volume meter it shows that I'm getting a signal. All my volumes are turned up and arent muted. Other capture programs are doing the same thing (videowave and video impression) so I think its a problem with my set up. I recently downloaded huffyuv 2.1 and installed it, that is the most recent change I can think of. Any ideas on where to look would be appreciated.

Make sure you have mono selected, and your recording volume is set for which ever line is receving audio.
