using this guide: http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencsvcd.htm for Divx to SVCD. Started with Divx Xvid. Extracted audio to separate .wav per "NOTE 1" of guide. Will be burning across 2 discs so Im also cutting the .avi in half.
Cant see there being a problem with A/V sync on the 1st half encoding, but will TMPGEnc sync up the A/V with my "start frame" being halfway thru the .avi on the 2nd half (disc 2)??
thanks

encoded to mepg2 lastnight using previously mentioned guide. 1st disc of movie audio was about 6 secs ahead of video, 2nd disc it was about 30 secs ahead. So TMPGEnc attempted to join a/v correctly but ended up way out of sync.
read thru the "probs" section of guide http://www.vcdhelp.com/virtualdubaudio.htm , so I'll be trying to encode again tonight. This method produced a .wav of 1.03gigs. Previous detailed method here http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencsvcd.htmt created a wav of liuke 100MB -
re-encoded to mpeg2 lastnight. worked like a charm. both SVCDs synced perfect and completed in less than half the time 3.5hrs vs 7.5hrs.
heres what I did in case any newbs (like me) are wondering.
started with a Divx Xvid encoded movie, widescreen, nice quality picture and sound =730MB
using this guide: http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencsvcd.htm
since Divx, removed .wav using virtualdub using this guide: http://www.vcdhelp.com/divxtovcd.htm#audio
encoded with TMPGEnc, had serious sync problems across both discs.
re-extracted .wav from the original, using: http://www.vcdhelp.com/virtualdubaudio.htm which detailed "full processing mode". this created a 1.03G .wav file.
created a new batch job in TMPGEnc to encode each half of the movie, then burned using nero. worked beautifully. almost no blurring/pixelation and saw one dropped frame in an 1hr that I've watched so far.
