at wits end with trying to burn dvd's

ok, ever since i've had this Pioneer DVR-104 I have had many problems burning dvd's. The software that came with it, doesn't record to the drive, and if it does, it fails half way through. I have firmware 1.31. No dvd burning software works with this burner, they all create coasters. I'm losing my mind trying to figure out what to use to burn. My dvd writer came with Sonic MyDVD, Record now DX, Archsoft Showbiz, and none will work. If anyone can give me some help here I'd appreciate it.

Use the latest version of Nero and you should be ok.
I have a 104 and have always used Nero without any probs.

try going to stomp recordnow website to get the latest driver see if that fixes it...I haev seen recordnow dx fail to detect a newer cd burner..so check their website..

What kind of error are you getting when the write fails?

Sounds to me like it may be a hardware configuration issue..

First, make sure you are trying to burn at 1x until you can figure it out. Next, make sure that the DVD Burner is not on the same IDE channel as any of your hard drives.

I would put it on IDE2 Master if at all possible
