  1. I am having trouble and could use some help. I am trying to take a 10 minute clip that i already edited and rendered as a .avi file and now i need to break it down into 5 two minute .avi clips. I can do it the long way by using a program like vegas video, importing my full clip, highlighting 2 minutes then rendering it again, but its a time consuming project. I have spent the last 2 days looking for other options, one of which is virutaldub, but when i go to open my original file i get this error:

couldn't locate decompressor for format "dvsd"(unknown)

VitualDub requires a Video for Windows(VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by windows media player, are not suitable.

If anyone has any thoughts or ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.

Please respond here, not in email.
