  1. *Still new*

I'm wondering if I did create a real working VCD... I used nero, have all four of the folders and I'm wondering if I've created a working VCD... Problem is my DVD player is VERY tempermental and sometimes doesn't play retail DVD's... So, following the instructions listed on this site I was able to change the .bat files to .wma files and it did play in Windows Media Player...

    The Question:
If it played in Windows Media is it a working VCD and I just need to find a DVD player to play it?

    Thanks.

That it works in media player does not mean at all that it is a working VCD. Media player can read any MPEG-1 stream with any kind of specs...
for it to be a VCD it should have the following specs:

    PAL
    Video: CBR 1150 kbps, 352X288 , 25 fps (MPEG1)
    Audio: CBR 44.100Hz 224 kbps (MPEG2)

    NTSC
    Video: CBR 1150kbps, 352 X 240, 29.97 fps (MPEG1)
    Audio: CBR 44.100Hz 224 kbps (MPEG2)

I suggest you take your vcd to the store with you and test it when looking for a dvd player. then you will find out if its your player or your disc. look in the players section to the left for compatability so you know what player should play a vcd disc

  4. Just go to the 'Tools' section on this site (on the left side of this page) and download the I-VCD player. Install it and run it on your PC. It will work even from a standard CD drive! If it works there then it will most likely work on a healthy DVD player.

    Good Luck
