  1. I finally got a new system and I also purchased a HP 200e DVD writer, I have been in the VCD scene for about a year+ but new to the DVD scene. I have ripped Scary Movie 2 and encoded it it a DVD compatible format.
The whole movie is on my harddrive, reall good quality, and flawless play back... but when I try burning it with HP's software package I only get at most, half of the video on the disc. The software says it sucessfully copied it to the disc but the DVD+R is only half filled. Whats the deal. . Any help would be greatful. But for any doubt its the computer's fault I'll include the specs:
    P4 2.8Ghz
1 Gig. of 1066 MHz Rhambus RAM
    Asus P4T533-C motherboard
    Soundblaster Audigy Gamer Soundcard
ATI 7500 AIW Video card 64MB
    100Gig Western Digital
    LG DVD-CD-R/RW
    HP dvd 200e

My experience with MyDVD is that if the MPEG you're burning is over 2.0GB, it will explode to over the capacity of the blank. There's a little bar graph in the lower right hand corner that tells you the size before you burn.

    Good Luck.

  5. you should try using different program. the reason why it is exploding is because it is changing the audio to pcm format which takes up a lot of space.
if i was you i would use ifoedit95. you will have to sperate the audio and video though. then just use nero to burn the dvd files ifoedit made......

How big was the Movie part in the first place?
After you use ifoedit to strip out some french/spanish audio.

You re-enoded at too low bitrate, always aim for 3.8GB m2v's
plus 450mb for the AC3 audio.

  7. I had a very similar problem. I was trying to back up The Sopranos Disc 3 from the second season. The whole disc is +7G but DVDXCopy wanted to break it into 2 disk. Disk 1 with 2.1G and Disk 2 with .4G. For some strange reason the other +4.5G was missing or not registering. The DVD has 3 episodes but it said I could only put 7 of 8 chapters from the first episode on Disk 1. Chapters 1-7 accounted for 2.1G. Chapter 8 was only .4G. It wouldn't let me move the .4G for Chapter 8 to the first disk and the other 2 episodes accounting for the remaining +4.5G wasn't accounted for.

I tried a different DVD, Attack of the Clone and the entire +8Gig Disk 1 at 3.96G and Disk 2 at 4.28G was accounted for. Weird. Very weird.

    Any ideas? Thanxxx in advance
