Heres the deal, I have been making copies of my DVDs to use and storing the originals... Now I had no problem at all with my previous system P4 1.5, I've just rebuilt it using a Soyo Kt400 motherboard and an AMD 2100+... Now when I re-encode 4+ gig movies with Rempeg2 I get small flashing squares on my re-encode, they are of various colors and look like small pixelated blocks, they seem to present thereselves on Dark, and black, scenes more then well lit scenes.
I've changed nothing but the processor/motherboard, and of course installed the correct drivers for motherboard support. The only thing that is obviously different in the re-encode process is the speed, its about half the time it used to take the P4...... All my methods and settings are the same...
I've also confirmed it is indeed Rempeg2 that is creating the issues... No problems with the Rip until re-encode...
I would really rather stick with rempeg2, rather then use CCE, as I'm used to this process and always had Excellent results prior to this....

1hr 20mins per pass on an average 6Gb movie using my XP2100 for me
I use the advanced CCE method guide using 2 passes and it gives tremendous results
so it's 2hr 40mins or so to decode to fit a 4.3Gb DVD-R with top quality picture
dunno how long Rempeg takes to do this, but I also like the editing bit in CCE where u can increase the bitrate in certain parts to maintain the quality
the estimate to the complete filesize is quite good too
start using CCE mrdisky, you won;t regret it -
I'd use CCE, it's way better then remeg.
Or even tmpgenc.
I can't see the processor causing your problem, unless remeg has some
bug with it's processor support.
