I burn a NTSC Film VCD and my player seems to constantly skip many frames at a time. My player play every other VCD or SVCD I have made perfectly. How do I fix this?

You could try upgrading the firmware but the fact is that not all dvd players will correctly play an ntsc film vcd even though it is supported by the standard and is in no way non-compliant. If a firmware upgrade doesnt fix it I dont think there is anything you can do.

I hate neither of my VCD capable players properly support NTSC FILM -- the picture quality is amazing for a VCD. They work great on a computer, though. I wonder if they work well on portable VCD players? I should report back when my Avex player arrives this week (http://www.mp3playerstore.com/buy_it_now__/avex.html).

As a side note, the guy I confirmed my order with said this does play SVCD. I hope he wasnt blowing smoke up my ass.

Who me? The portable I ordered? It's called Avex. The web page I pointed to implies its also SVCD-capable, so I ordered it, then "confirmed" with the order guy on the phone.

I phoned again this morning to see if it had been shipped. They "have to check the warehouse" so the order hasn't even been processed yet. *grrr* They say they're likely out of the Avex, so I may not get one. You can't get to it from the home page anymore.

It should have worked. What you did was very nearly if not exactly what Sefy's template for TMPGEnc does.
