  2. Yes, crop out the sides.
    In tmpgenc I think you need to use "no margin" in video arrange method.


    But do you really want to lose 1/3 of the media?

    It's not like you can Pan and Scan,
    as you will only keep the center part.

  4. ewwwwww... why do people still mess with fullscreen??? everything I do is widescreen anamorphic if possible. I don't like losing part of the picture, and I am looking to the future. 4:3 television will be a thing of the past in the near future.

  6. what about a halfway solution?

    Crop so you only loose 1/6 of the media
    and the black bars will only be half as high.

    So something between widescreen and fullscreen.

    in tmpgenc select: Center (custom size)
    and use 740x400 for DVD and 490x400 for SVCD
    in the boxes just below video arrange method.

    These numbers will stretch them a little, but is't tall skinny people
    a good thing? (if not use 780/500)

    Best Solution:
    Get a extra part time job to save up enough money
    for a new widescreen TV. 8)
