I recently created a few VCD's which play perfectly on my computer.
Problam is i want to play them on my lounge room DVD player and they won't play on it. Message is no disc.
I consulted the manual with the dvd player it tells me that to play a vcd on this dvd player, a play back control is required.
Can any one help with this?
If i burnt in UDF format would that work?

  2. I think the problem is with the media and not with the file type , Not every standalone player can play cd's there are some who play just dvd-roms (especially old players ) there are some who play just a few brands of cd's and not all there are a few dvd's who can't play cd-rw's , you should consult your vendor , by your story I reckon yours can't play cd's or it requires upgrading , simply rent a movie ( an old one ) which is in MPEG1 format ( the format of VCD ) , the disk would be a DVD-Rom but the content is VCD this way you can see where your problem is .
    I hope this helps .

I realy dont think it is the media. But thanks anyway. As i said the dvd acording to the manual will play vcd, but a play back control file is needed.
I cant find the file on the cd when it is made, so i think it needs to be added manualy.
