divx problem

Hi guys i convetd dvds to divx useing the following dvdx my settings are divx 502 for video and mp3 128 kb/sec but on playback the sound is fine but the picture is a green scrambled mess. has anyone else had this problem? cheers.

Sounds like you downloaded a patched version of DivX Pro. I hear alot warez version of DivX Pro get all screwed up. Try going to divx.com and downloading just regular divx.

something is definatly wrong. is the file watchable before you do the encoding? what prog are you using to encode with? vdub? try uninstalling every thing divx-clean registry and reinstall.

experiment with a small 1 or 2 minute clip. start with a basic encode. like 1 pass - all defaut settings- lame mp3 audio. and go from there. and then you can go from there adding one filter or tweak at a time.
you may want to check you resolution also. with 5.02 i have had video not show at all with certain res'.

hi hoola_loop im useing dvdx 1.7 the picture looks fine while encodeing its only during playback. how do i clean the regestry? cheers
