Im using vidomi to make avi files of dvds but the sound always ends up too quiet. Just wondering how to take the audio from the avi and amplify it while keeping the file size down
file is currently 699mb.
I'm pretty sure you use virtualdub but when i try the file ends up 1.3 gig..
I want to keep it so it will fit on a cd
cheers for any help

Depends on what tools you are using to create your MPG's. I've never heard of vidomi - but essentially all you want to do is normalize the WAV/MP2 file that comes from demuxing the original VOB/AVI conversion.
If you already have the MPG (which it sounds like you do) - demux the MPG into seperate M2V and MP2 files. (TMPGenc for example) Use a tool such as Besweet to increase the volume of the MP2 or VirtualDub if you like. Then Mux it back again (using TMPGenc) - your file should stay at 699Mbyte. -
I had not heard of vidomi either until no of course. Just had a look on their web site www.vidomi.com, looks interesting.
Have a look at http://www.vidomi.com/download.php there is a utility there called AVI Normalize.ace (you'll need winace to decompress it, or something else that can work with .ace files)
there are plenty of other tools that do what you want but just stick with what you know a little of for now.
