  1. I had a Divx file with AC3, 5 channel audio that I wanted to convert to VCD. My normal method with this would be to save a wav file using direct stream copy in vdub, then rename it to ac3 and run it through headac3he creating a wave file for use in TMPGEnc. Anyway headac3he, was having none of it, giving an arror along the lines of "sync error, the ac3 file may be corrupt".

I opened the video in TMPGEnc no problem but it would not recognize the audio, so i increased the direct show multimedia file reader from -1 to 1, it would now recognize the audio no problem. I encoded it expecting the audio to be out of sync, but no, it is perfect. So if you are having problems with 5 channel ac3 audio, this may be a solution.

I will add that so far I have only tried this on 2 files.

It also works for me, but not on all videos with ac3s. Maybe the ones that are in vbr audio...

(craigtucker: All divx to conversions should be in the newbie conversion forum.)
