  1. Trying to backup remember the titians. Ripped fine with all the vob's. Loaded into dvd2avi . When it was finished I had no audio file to encode with. I have done many dvd's in the past with no problems. Thanks for any help.

    Use DVD2AVI's demux setting (instead of decode), and see what you end up with!

  3. ripped region 1 no problem awhile ago....

    dolby digital -> decode

    audio track -> 2

    if that doesn't work, choose another audio track, etc...

  4. Yup, it's the audio track that you need to choose. I had the same thing happen with me with Donnie Brasco...I couldn't figure out why I couldn't rip the sound, then I just changed the audio track and all worked fine.

    Very occasionally DVD's have mpeg sound, not Dolby Digital. In which case it is necessary to demux rather than decode. But more likely this will be solved by choosing a different audio track.

    When you rip the vobs (at least with Smartripper) you should have a text file which tells you what is what on the DVD. Alternatively, take a look at the ifo file with Ifoedit. Most problems I have with track one are where it is not the language (English) I want. I think I may have come across an instance where track one was not audio - but I can't be sure.
