  1. HELP!
I have, in the past, successfully created vcds using DVDx 1.6/1.8. However, since using DVDx 2.0 (P4) I have burnt nothing but coasters(!) although the resulting .dat files WILL play in media player. I rip the VOB files to my HD, then mpeg them with DVDx using 352x288 frame size, 1150 vbr, 228 abr. I have also tried using the various different quality formats. If I use Nero to burn the vcd, it won't play in my standalone. If I use EasyCD, an error is reported that the system clock speed is 1182 (all other settings seem to be okay). It burns the vcd, but reports errors on verifying, and won't play in the standalone. If I burn a portion of the mpeg as a test, it seems to work fine (?). I have tried going back to DVDx 1.6/1.8, but I get the same results.
If ANYONE has had similar problems and knows a solution, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know, as I am getting fed up with burning coasters!!!!

Use DVDx just as a frameserver (Select 720x576 "nearest neighbour" output and then select "Video pass server" or such at the lower right end of the output settings dialog.)

Then use a real encoder like TMPGenc to encode the resulting pseudo-AVI (DVDx and the Video Pass server must keep running in the background) and VCDEasy to burn it.
