In case this problem I am having is player relate I have the Philips DVD724AT. Just got it and testing its capability. Does not seem like its the player however. The Player has a setting for PCM or RAW (full digital steam) for the SPDIF setting.

Problem:

I did a rip of one of my music videos using Smartripper, used DVD2AVI to separate out the sound as a *.wav file. I created an AUDIO cd with NERO so I can play the soundtrack in my Car CD player and works fine and I used the *.wav file stripped from the DVD RIP. The sound on this audio CD also plays fine even though it is now 2 channel whether the SPDIF is set PCM or RAW on my new philips DVD player.

When I encoded a few minutes of the DVD RIP, or any example I download from the tool section on the left I must set the sound to PCM or I do not get any sound. The RAW setting gives me nothing even though the Audio CD I made from the stripped *.wav works fine in the RAW setting I do not get any sound using the RAW setting when encoded with the Video using TMPGEnc. Seems like it is an encoding issue I just can not figure it out.

Very anoying to have to change the sound setting to PCM and then back to RAW for comercial DD DVD's. Is this what is expected or am I doing something wrong when I burn the VCD CVD SCVD (all have same problem). I should state that the Audio cd was burned with NERO and the VIDEO CD's were burned with VCDeasy if that makes a difference.

EDIT: Forgot to state that I did a NERO burn of the encoded videos and still the same problem.
