I've heard a lot about people editing their registry so that they may capture in * x 480 with their ATI TV cards. I have an ATI TV Wonder, and even VirtualDub will not let me capture at anything higher than * x 240, giving me an "Error 418: Format Not Supported". Is there anything I can do to get around this, or am I stuck?

I'm also having this problem. Please let me know if you find a solution.
Thanks. -
The ATI-Support is very good! Just write a Mail with your question to the support or call them by phone!
You can find the contact adresses on their page.

LOL
ATi support sucks big time. That's why we ask the questions in user groups..
Also having that problem. I just read that:
---
Only to mention: BT8x8 based cards cannot capture both fields of a frame and perform video overlay, since it uses one field to make the video overlay and the other for the capture app. You MUST always turn "Video Preview" mode on instead of "Overlay".
Then you will get 480 lines (interlaced), but with slow picture refresh (I think this is not a real problem).
Note that you can change the settings of VDub to force "Preview" mode for these drivers and avoid the "Unsupported format" message every time you switch to capture mode.
---
Going to try that see if that was the problem.

guys,
We need more details here. I need more!
What:
* cpu
* video card
* capture cards driver(s) version, etc.
* WDM? or VFW?
* what capture apps do you have?
Well?
