  1. Hi all,
New here, can anyone answer this question? Recently got a Divx movie, size is movie widescreen 2.35:1 (608x256), I've tried several different tests to output a good mpg from TMPGenc but it always cuts the sides off the movie when played in my standalone DVD player (I have a widescreen TV - Pal)
I really want to sort this problem as it occurs on all movie widescreen Divx files I get.

Any help would be most appreciated. :P

  2. In Mpeg setting adjust the "source aspect ratio" to 16:9 and the "video arrange method" to full screen - keep aspect ratio. You might try leaving the "source aspect ratio" to 1:1 vga. see what results you get with this.

Divx movies are intended for PC use and so the pixels are square. Therfore when encoding to mpeg for TV use you should ALWAYS use "source aspect ratio" as 1:1 vga.

Other than that I agree with VCDHunter

  4. Thanxs for the help, I have managed to get a film out that fitted on the screen but I had to change the video arrange method to centre - custom size then change the size to 304 x 240 pixels. This seems to have done the trick, I now have a 16:9 widescreen movie in fullscreen without losing the sides.
