VDUB Capture Lockup (BLACK SCREEN)

Well, I am stuck.
I was following Virtual Dub capture step by step

and everything was working fine until I selected 24 bit RGB under Video> Format(IMAGE FORMAT).

When I selected that and hit Okay, I got a black screen with one green line going across the top of the monitor.
Everytime it happens, I have to reboot. The audio is still going on but you can't exit the program or see anything on the screen.

Image Dimensions settings are
352 X 240

Huffy and PicVideo codecs are installed.

Now when I go to "Launch VirtualDub and select File->Capture AVI", it goes right back to the black screen causing me to have to reboot again.

I am Using VirtualDub-1_4_10 but I also tried with version 1.3 and got the same problem.

How can I change it the Image Format back to YUY2?
I have been trying to find that answer for the past 3 hours but to no avail.
