  1. I edit a lot of DV footage to make little home movies and usually convert them to CBR-2520kb/s CVD's.
The results are really good, no block or any other artifact visible.
Since CVD is half D1 and thus compatible with DVD, I was wondering if I could burn them in FORM-1 mode and use the CVD's as archives, and maybe re-author them as DVD later, etc.
I understand a CVD (or a (S)VCD) is burned as a CD-ROM/XA, MODE-2, FORM-2 witch give more space, but lack ecc <- this is my problem here for those who don't get it
Could I switch to FORM-1 and how?
I don't mind losing the space, actually I would get back space if I could delete the masters, I just don't want to save them on DV cassettes or CD-R's.

If I remember well, you don't need ecc with mpeg, because mpeg has built in error correction.
