  1. So far, i've encoded 2 movies that play smooth on my computer, but when i go to play them on my standalone dvd player, the video is choppy. I've encoded with CCE and TMPEGnc, with both having the same outcome. With CCE, i don't get near as bad of the chopping with the video as TMPEGnc, but it's still noticable. Any suggestions on what i can do to get rid of this?

  2. I found this on dvd2dvdr.com

    http://www.dvd2dvdr.com/faq.htm#playback%20stutter

"After I burn a DVD it plays back fine on my pc, but stutters on my standalone"

"Your DVD player is finicky about the Media that you use. www.cd-recordable.com has cheap media, but it also gives this problem in many dvd players. Apple DVD's from www.apple.com are pretty good, but at $5 a piece they are slightly pricey. Right now I recommend getting DVDpro media from www.meritline.com. Its good and cheap."

This sounds exactly what is happening. I'm using Memorex dvd-r. I never had a problem with the cdr i use from them. Should i go with a different media?

  3. I would think memorex is a good media as I have memorex dvd-rw for my testing....what software are you using to burn.. I had problems with nero before ...giving me a choppy video and it sometimes pauses in some scene.. I use a trial version of gear pro dvd and that work great but expensive so I went with recordnow max and I am happy with the result.... Iam only using 1x even my a04 can burn @ 2x just to be on the safe side..

    hope this helps
