Hi,
I'm having a lot of problems with capture with an ATI all in wonder pro video card. PC in Win XP Home, Athlon 1.2 GHz.
Previoulsy I've been able to capture MPEG2 and 1 no problem. I've also been able to encode to SVCD from MPEG2 without problem with TmpGenc. Every now and then I get an issue where TmpGenc complains about an usupported format when I try to open an MPGE2 file. In the past it seems a resolution to this is to uninstall ATI Media Center (7.2)and/or ATI DVD(5.0) player and reinstall. Lately this didn't work so thinking it may be a codec issue (with my limited understanding of this) I installed the codec from MaximusDVD linked to from the Tools section of this web site. This cured the TmpGenc problem but now whenever I try to capture MPEG2 I get stuttery sound and video. I tried using virtual dub, but the only codec to pick other than Micrsoft MPEG4 is the PCIVideo codec which ends up leaving a logo on the video, which is of no use at all. Surely I do not need to 'buy' another codec, I have all the necessary software on my PC. What do I do next?
